Lots of good information and historical newsletters.  If you want to add anything contact our Webmaster, Jim Newby.

Palatine Chapter #206, R.A.M., Had its second Stated Convocation for the fall this past Wednesday, the 15th of October.  It was the occasion of the Official Visit of the DDGHP.  The High Priest, Frank Del Giudice, Opened the Chapter in Form and the DDGHP, yours truly, was received properly.  It was fun.  We had a great dinner prior to the Convocation prepared by David Lee.  We also balloted on two Candidates, Matt Prokop, and Matt Scaro.  We will confer the Mark Master and Past Master Degrees on November 5th.  Things are rolling.

Loyal L. Munn Chapter #96, R.A.M., had its second Stated Convocation of the year on October 1st.  Our High Priest, James Newby (the son), welcomed all to our Convocation.  We understand that we should have a Candidate for the Degrees coming up.  We are conferring the Mark Master and Past Master Degrees on November 5th, in conjunction with Palatine Chapter #206.  We are also having the Official Visit of the DDGHP on that night.  That should be a nice evening.  Come on out.  Russell Schlosser and I were able to attend the Grand High Priest's Reception in Effingham on the 27th of September.  It was a fun evening.

Cryptic Council #46 had its Second Stated Assembly of the Fall on October 1st.  Our T.I. Master, Jim Newby (the father) welcomed all to our Assembly.  We conferred the Royal and Select Master Degrees on Alex Nawakowski and Claude Ohanesian.  One of our cast members could not make it so our good friend Rudy Galvan from Chicago came out to help.  Thanks, Rudy.  This catches us up with all outstanding Work, as far as I know.  We did, however, just receive two Petitions.  So, they will be Greeted in January.

Bethel Commandery #36, KT, had its second Conclave of the Fall on the 15th of October.  Our Commander, Gary Berenger, welcomed all.  In prior meetings we had practiced the new 10 man opening, and will continue to Open with it during our Stated Conclaves throughout the year.  This is a great way for our Commandery to open in Full Form and in uniform in a relatively short timeframe.  This way we will not use most of the evening just opening.  Our Commander has called a practice for the 22nd of October at Medinah.  We will be having these throughout the year so we are ready for our Annual Inspection in April of 2015.  The first Inspection coming up is at Austin Commandery #84 in Glenview, on the 15th of November.  It would be good for Bethel Commandery to have a good showing that day, and for our Officers to see how the work is to be done.

We had a Memorial Masonic and Commandery Service on September 22nd for Charles R. Neumann at Living Lord Lutheran Church, who passed away on August 13th.  Chuck's widow, Karla, came up from Arizona for the event and to inter the ashes in Barrington.  Karla's brother, Chuck Sass, was also in attendance.  The Grand Master of the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar, David D. Goodwin, the Grand Recorder of the Grand Encampment, Larry Tucker, and the Administrator of the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Robert Bigley were in attendance.  The Grand Encampment sent a large and beautiful Salem Cross to be present during the Services.  Russell L. Schlosser, Grand Commander of Illinois and Bradley Baker, Grand Prelate of Illinois, conducted the Commandery Service, with comments from Sir Knight David D. Goodwin.  Barrington Lodge #522 conducted the Lodge Service.  Wally Wilson did the Master's part in fine fashion.  There was a very good group of Masons and Knights Templar present.  Bethel Commandery was well represented, as this was Chuck Neumann's Commandery.  We all enjoyed refreshments and fellowship after the Services.

Bethel Commandery #36 was first in the State of Illinois for the 46th Voluntary Campaign for the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.  Congratulations, Sir Knights.

The Grand Commandery has come out with a new award, called the Cross and Crown Award.  The details were read at our last conclave.  This is available to a Commander who performs certain functions and reaches certain goals during the year.

Bethel Commandery has come out with another belt
buckle for sale for benefit of the Knights Templar Eye
Foundation, Inc.  This one is a Royal Arch
Chapter buckle, with the triple tau, and with the
infamous words "Holiness to the Lord"
emblazoned thereon.  This buckle has been commissioned
in honor of Brother, Companion,
and Sir Knight David P. Miller, Past Grand High Priest
and member of the Palatine
York Rite.  It will sell for $50, just
as the Knights
Templar buckle did last year.  We also we able to
obtain a few more Knights Templar buckles since we
had more orders than we could fill.  Let me know if
you are interested.

Our loyal Companion and Sir
Knight Jim Newby has volunteered to coordinate the degree work going forward.  Thank you, Jim. He will also work with the Officers of the four respective bodies.  The following is what we have printed for some time.  "As a reminder, at our planning meeting on April 4,
2007, we tentatively decided to appoint one member as
a "Degree Czar" for each of the Palatine York Rite
Bodies.  That would be four individuals.  The thought
was that the number two man in each body would fill
that need.  We need to get more people trained in our
Degree Ritual so we have a backup for each part.
Right now, if certain people are out of town, we are
stuck.  This will also get some of our newer members
actively involved in the affairs of our four York Rite
Bodies.  This will also get the number two man in each
group more prepared for his year as Presiding Officer.
Planning and Preparation.

The York Rite offers many opportunities for us to
serve our fellow man and our communities.  Each of the
Bodies has a charity or several charities that we
support.  Membership in our York Rite Bodies allows us
to fulfill our Obligations and Vows to help those who
are less fortunate.  Let us keep this in our minds as
we go about our daily endeavors.  There is a cloud
surrounding us, that has been built up over the
centuries, that we are a secret organization.  Now is
the time to let those on the outside know who we are.
We should not keep our lamps under the bushel, but
should let our Light so shine before men, that they
may see our good works, and glorify our Father, which
is in Heaven.

Palatine Chapter currently has about 176 members.  L L Munn has about 60 members.  Bethel
Commandery now has 206 members.  Of these, 94 are life
members and 13 are 50-year members and are exempt from

As a reminder, the new Palatine Masonic Temple is all on one floor and at
ground level.  Therefore it is wheelchair accessible.  No ramp or chairlift
